Wrong history taught so far, attackers glorified: Anurag Tagore – Times of India

Gorakhpur: Union Minister Anurag Tagore on Saturday claimed that the history taught in the country was far from the truth as the invaders were called “majestic” and the freedom fighters were called “extremists”.

He emphasized that it was the government’s responsibility to teach accurate history and literature.

“The history we have studied is far from the truth. It is the responsibility of the government to educate the correct history and literature. The Council of Education (MPSP) addressed the students. “Can we believe that Shaheed Bhagat Singh was an extremist, a terrorist,” Tagore asked during a ceremony presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Adityanath, he said, “India has emerged as a startup country in the last seven years. Startups have become a force for Indian youth.”

Appreciating the role of MPSP in educating the people, Tagore said that Brahmalin Mahanta Digvijayanath started the council nine decades ago and CM Adityanath was carrying forward the legacy and working tirelessly to achieve the goal for which it was set up.

“Education is the foundation of development of any society and country. Uttar Pradesh was the first state to implement a new education policy,” he said.

Explaining the importance of sports and social work, the Union Minister said that Adityanath was the “only Chief Minister of India” who honored all the performers of the Tokyo Olympics in a great program.

He is giving sports stadiums in every district of the state and promoting sports among the youth, Thakur said.

He also praised the chief minister for “successfully managing” the coronavirus wave. Thakur asked the students to acquire skills with their studies.

Speaking on the occasion, Adityanath said discipline is the lifeblood of a healthy competition.

“The event is a celebration of discipline and the ‘unbroken light’ of service lit by Brahmin Mahanta Digvijayanath in Eastern UP will continue to shine,” the CM said.
