The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which conducts prestigious examinations, allows candidates to carry their own hand sanitizer (small size) in transparent bottles.
It said, “It is mandatory for all candidates to wear a mask / face cover. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the venue without a mask / face cover.”

The Civil Service Examination is conducted in three stages – Preliminary, Main and Interview – for selection between Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.
The Civil Service Preliminary Examination 2021 is scheduled to be held on 10th October.
The commission said, “Candidates will abide by the ‘Social Distance’ Covid-1 nor policy as well as the ‘Personal Hygiene Rules’ in the examination hall / room as well as on the premises of the venue.”
Faculty members who provide training to pass the civil service exam advise candidates to rely on their preparation without panic at the last minute.
“The UPSC preliminary exam is scheduled for Sunday. Candidates must have a calm and creative mind as the exam conditions have the ability to run the brain faster. Kapil Sikka, a faculty member at StudyIQ.com (an online platform for providing training for civil service exams), asked candidates to focus on their strengths.
“Whether it’s quantitative ability or comprehension of reading, candidates should try to be as accurate as possible. Maintain the right balance between speed and accuracy. There is no value in the wrong answer if done quickly to save time. Also a correct answer is useless if it is too much to solve. It takes more time, ”Sikka said.
The UPSC, in its guidelines for Sunday exams, further said that candidates should not occupy or use any mobile phone (even in switch-off mode), pager or any electronic equipment, programmable device, pen drive or storage media. Able to use smart watch, etc., camera or Bluetooth device or any other equipment or related accessories as communication device while working or testing in switch-off mode.
“Violation of these guidelines will result in disciplinary action, including a ban on future examinations,” it said.
According to the commission, the use of ordinary or ordinary wrist watches is allowed by the examinees.
“However, the use of watches with a special accessory that can be used as a communication device or smart watch is strictly prohibited and candidates are not allowed to take such watches to the examination rooms / halls,” it said.
