We are fortunate to have quality Indian players with international experience: Kaif | Cricket News – Times of India

Sharjah: The presence of many talented Indian players with international experience has been a boon for the Delhi Capitals this IPL season, the team’s assistant coach Mohammad Kaif said on Friday.
The assistant coach emphasized the importance of having quality Indian players in their team.
“The key to any franchise is to have quality Indian players in a franchise,” Kaif said.
“If there are seven Indian players who are playing in the IPL regularly and understand their roles and responsibilities, it is a huge advantage for any team.”
He said the second-placed Delhi Capitals were not in a testing mood and would go down to the eleventh field in their best game in every match.
The Delhi Capitals will be back on track to win if they face the Mumbai Indians at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
The Delhi franchise, which has won eight of its 11 matches, is just one win away from securing a place in the play-offs.
During the virtual conference, Kaif said that the main focus of the team in the match against Mumbai Indians will be to perform well with the bat.
“Our main focus against the Mumbai Indians will be our batting. Whether we bat first or second, we have to bat well. It’s a great team to play against Mumbai,” Kaif said.
“Collectively we have performed well this season. Different players are moving forward in different matches and situations. We are lucky to have got so many match-winners and hopefully, someone will be part of the team in the match against Mumbai again.” .
Asked if the Delhi franchise would like to give a chance to some of the players on the bench in the next few matches as the team is in a good position at the table, Kaif replied in the negative.
“We haven’t qualified yet. Funny things happen in the IPL and we are very aware of it. We have to improve because there is always room for improvement. We are second in the table, but we have to keep working hard. To play our best team in every match. Will be. ”
Speaking about the change in wicket speed in Sharjah this year, Kaif said players need to take up the challenge of running on tough pitches.
“The Sharjah pitch has been a bit more slow this year. However, players must take on the challenge of batting on a tough pitch, where it is difficult to run. The team that takes on the challenge of running will win the tough pitch.”
