UPRTOU students to get free tablets / smartphones through state government scheme – Times of India

Prayagraj: All students, currently enrolled in the academic session at Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University till July 2021, the state government will provide tablets or smartphones. The only open university in the state has completed all the preparations for the implementation of the project for free distribution of tablets / smartphones for the technical empowerment of the youth of the state.

Dr. Gyan Prakash Yadav, in-charge of admissions, has been made the nodal officer of the scheme under the direction of University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Seema Singh.

“In the current session of the university (July 2021) all the students are enrolled with the university and are pursuing various courses, whether they are working, retired professional or unemployed youth, will be provided tablets / smartphones under the state government scheme for technology. Youth empowerment, ”said the nodal officer. He also said that no student has to pay any application or fee for this. The student database will be made available by the nodal officer to the officer selected by the government. Dr. Yadav said that if there is any error in the uploaded data, the coordinator of the study center should inform the nodal officer. Information regarding this will be sent to the students by phone or email.


Prabhat Chandra Mishra, Media Incharge of the University informed that with this, the last date of admission in all the awareness programs, Certificate Program, Diploma Program, PG Diploma Program and Graduate and Masters Program of the University is July 2021. -22 extended to 25 November 2021.

The last date of admission in various courses has been extended from November 15 to November 25, 2021 in the interest of the students, as directed by UPRTU VC, Professor Seema Singh. Students wishing to be admitted can confirm their admission by submitting the online admission fee on the University website and web link. Simultaneous admission process is being conducted in all the regional centers of the state including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Meerut, Azamgarh, Noida and Ayodhya.
