UP CM Yogi Adityanath eats at dalit household, targets Samajwadi Party | India News – Times of India

Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday dined with a Dalit family here and said that during the Samajwadi Party rule it was not “social exploitation” and “social justice” where BJP government is working for development of every section of society without any discrimination.
Shortly before Adityanath’s visit to a Dalit family in Gorakhpur, Swami Prasad Maurya, Dara Singh Chauhan and Dharam Singh Saini, who resigned from the government for allegedly being anti-Dalit, gathered at the Samajwadi Party office in Lucknow to seek membership. In the run-up to the Assembly elections, which began on 10 February.
A number of BJP and AAP MLAs have also left their respective parties and joined the SP.
After a meal at Amritlal Bharati’s house on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Adityanath told reporters, “Only 18,000 houses were given under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme during the five-year tenure of Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh, where 4.5 million houses were given to the poor and deprived under the present BJP government scheme.”
“It was ‘social exploitation’ (social exploitation) and not ‘social justice’ (social justice) during the SP rule in UP,” he said, glancing at his predecessor and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Referring to the BJP rule at the Center and in the states, he said that under the “Double Engine” government, 2.61 crore households had access to toilets and 1.36 crore households had benefited from the Ujjwala scheme.
He further said that those who fall prey to racist politics cannot give justice to any part of the society.
“The SP government has robbed the Dalits and the poor of their rights,” he said.
Akhilesh Yadav was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017.
Along with Maurya, Chauhan and Saini, almost all the rebel MLAs cited the state government for not caring for the welfare of Dalits and backward classes as the main reason for leaving the saffron camp.
