unitech group: Unitech Group case: ED attaches 29 land parcels valued Rs 30 crore | India News – Times of India

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday attached 29 parcels of 13,600 sq m land worth Rs 30,29 crore in connection with an investigation against the Unitech group.
Land parcels are located in Sector 96-98 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The land parcels were illegally allotted to Carnosti Management (India) Pvt Ltd (CMPL) by Unitech Group’s Chandras, the ED said on Thursday.
The source of funds for the purchase of land parcels was previously transferred to Chandras CMPL from Homebuyer funds.
ED launched money laundering investigations on the basis of various FIRs registered by Delhi Police and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the basis of allegations of home buyers against Uditech Group, its promoter and others.
The ED’s investigation found that the Unitech group returned Rs 347.95 crore in criminal proceeds to the Carnosti Group and, in turn, the Carnosti Group of Companies bought several immovable properties in India and abroad from the proceeds of the crime.
In this case, the total revenue of the crime detected by the ED is Rs 7,638.43 crore.
Earlier, the ED conducted raids at the premises of NCR and 1 locations in Mumbai on the premises of Shivalik Group, Trikar Group, Unitech Group and Karnosti Group.
“After analysis of the seized records and disclosure by various individuals, the above diversion and layering of the POC has been revealed,” the ED said, adding that “with this attachment, the total attachment in this case has reached Rs 672.52 crore.”
