Tumakuru: A Karnataka SSLC (Class X) student, who tried to commit suicide after being deprived of the opportunity to take part in the annual exams, managed to get the highest marks in the supplementary exams last month.

The student of Albas School in Mudibidar got 599 marks out of the total 625 marks in the summer examination.

He got the highest marks out of 53,155 students who took part in the test. Grishma, who got 95 per cent in 9th class, was not given a hall ticket for the SSLC exam as she could not pay the school fees. The parents found out about this when they tried to enroll him for the test. Applying to the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) and the Minister of Education did not help.

Heartbroken summer 1 July Attempted suicide at her home. However, timely treatment saved his life. The incident made headlines because the Karnataka government was ready to take the SSLC exam in the face of the Kovid epidemic challenge in the state.

Upon learning of the incident, the then Education Minister Suresh Kumar rushed to his house and spoke to him. He told Grishma to be brave and assured that he would be given a chance to write the SSLC exam during the supplementary exam.

Suresh Kumar further asked him that he should concentrate on his studies without worrying too much about what happened.

After the result, Anandit Suresh Kumar congratulated him. “Summer has become a model for others. She has not deviated from her promise. Summer has achieved what she wanted,” he said.


“I was at home in the summer. I gave him courage and promised that it was my duty to give him a chance to take the supplementary examination. I told him to prepare for it without thinking. Even after I was removed from the cabinet, I I kept in touch with the deputy director of the academic district and the heads of the Alwar Institute to take part in the summer exams. After learning about the results and his achievements, my mind is now relaxed. ”

Summer said she was very happy with the results and thanked everyone who helped her take the test. “I made a mistake before. I prepared well for the test,” he added.

Grishma is a resident of Koratgarh town in Tumakuru district. She is the daughter of Narsinghmurti and Padmavati.
