The second phase UG first year admission process will start from November 23 – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: The Department of Higher Education on Thursday issued guidelines and dates for admission in the second phase of Degree College (Plus III first year) for the 2021-22 session. The online general application form will be available on the SAMS website from 23 November (11am).

Applicants, who were previously selected and not admitted, will be able to apply for admission in the second stage. Students who have not been selected in the first round of admission will be able to apply for the second round. Candidates who have not applied in the first step will be able to take part in this admission process. Even students who were previously selected and admitted will be able to apply for admission in the second phase, said the department’s guidelines for admission in the second phase.

The last date to apply online is November 28. The first merit list will be published on December 3 (two). Selected students will be admitted between 4th December to 6th December. Similarly, the second merit list will be published on December 10 (two). Admission to the second round will run from December 11 to December 14 (5 p.m.). After the completion of the first and second round examinations, the department will announce the number of vacant seats on December 16 (two). The names of the waiting listed applications will be published in the e-space of a particular higher education institution for selection and admission in various sections of Plus III first year. The college will verify the documents and admit the selected applicants between 21st December and 23rd December.

Students who took the Plus II board exam offline will take part in the admission process. About 13,000 Plus II students, who did not accept the marks given to them through the alternative assessment system, took the exam offline between 1st October and 11th October. After the results are released, students can participate in the second round of admission


“There are enough seats for students who have passed in degree colleges across the state. More than 80,000 seats remain vacant since the Phase-I UG admissions ended on October 30, “said a department official.

There are 2,49,539 seats in 1,022 degree colleges in the state. This year, 2,44,252 students have applied for admission in UG as against 2,13,959 students last year. After the first, second and spot selection rounds, more than 170,000 seats were filled.
