The school in Belthangadi conducts an online rally – Times of India

Mangalore: A government school in a remote village in Belthangadi taluk started online rallies every morning through the Google Meet platform. The idea is that children will now be deprived of attending classes on campus due to the Kovid-1p epidemic which will give them a sense of the school environment.

In addition to the online classes, teachers from Perlabapadi, a government high primary school on the Belthangadi list, experimented with conducting online gatherings. It started a week ago and includes all activities held during regular school gatherings on campus. This activity has fascinated students, who are now eagerly awaiting the online assembly session every morning. Thanks to the efforts of teachers Nalini Sylvester and Devika for this initiative.

“The idea of this online school gathering was to give students a sense of school campus while sitting at home. Meanwhile, there are many students here, especially those who have joined first class, who have never attended any school gathering. Also, some of the younger students who took part in it forgot, ”Nalini said.

The school has about 80 students studying from class I to VIII. It has only two teachers under the leadership of Nalini. The children’s parents work in agriculture and also have some daily wages. About 65 students have access to smartphones with internet. “The excitement is that some of them log in and wait for the rally for more than 30 minutes. However, those who do not have smartphones rush to the homes of their colleagues who are nearby, who have logged in to the rally, ”Nalini said.

The school assembly is held from 10:30 a.m. for about 10-15 minutes. There will be no session after the classes are scheduled on Chandana Channel. Devaki said that as the students begin to sing in the song on a rotating basis, they will then read the news of the day, continue reading in different languages, talk about a book the student has read, recite quality tables, quiz and end with singing the national anthem. .
