Though the situation was not alarming, the Chief Minister held a review meeting in the wake of sudden increase in Kovid-19 cases in the state. He inquired about the situation in Hyderabad and other parts of the state. Officials have submitted a report to the chief minister on the state’s health infrastructure. He called on the authorities to ban gatherings, meetings and gatherings to prevent further spread of the virus. He asked the authorities to further strengthen the health infrastructure facilities like hospital beds, oxygen beds, medicines and testing kits.
KCR says 99% of government hospital beds have already been converted to oxygen beds and the balance will also be covered. “Earlier, the availability of liquid oxygen was only 140 metric tons, now it has been increased to 324 metric tons. It should be further increased to 500 metric tons, ”said the CM.
Since home isolation is the key issue in most cases, KCR said that the current 20 lakh kits should be upgraded to one lakh and the testing kits should be increased from the existing 35 lakh to two crore. “If necessary, the old district collectorate and other office buildings can be used for the needs of isolation centers or health departments,” he said.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to set up more Basti dispensaries in all the municipalities. Emphasizing the need for more dispensaries in cities and municipalities, KCR officials spoke of opening six such clinics in Secunderabad cantonment. Similarly, new clinics should be opened in LB Nagar, Serilingampali, Utpal, Malkajgiri and other places, he said.
