Tata Power and IIT-Madras collaborate on R&D and campus recruitment opportunities – Times of India

CHENNAI: Tata Power on Monday said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) on research and development (R&D), consulting, policy advocacy, advisory, training and commercialization of technology and solutions, among others. .

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, Tata Power and IIT-M aim to pursue advanced research in future technologies, and the agreement also includes the opportunity to offer full-time roles or internships for IIT-M postgraduate students on campus.

The agreement also includes research-based and consulting projects supported by the Center for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), IIT-Madras.

In addition, Tata Power employees and IIT faculty members may participate in each other’s committees and boards, the agreement said.

Under this initiative, Tata Power employees can also enroll for programs like M Tech, MS and PhD offered by IIT-M after confirming the admission through due process.

Tata Power said it could choose to provide grants to support faculty research or to assist students with scholarships and fellowships, and to explore working with startups affiliated with the IITM Incubation Cell.
