New Zealand was limited to batting 134/6. Just two days after defeating India by 10 wickets, Pakistan completed the task with eight balls to spare.
“Winning is always good, we will take this confidence forward in the tournament,” Babar said at the presentation.
Man-of-the-match Harris Rauf led the clinical bowling performance with a great four wickets before the attack by Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali as Pakistan took “revenge” against New Zealand for a recent off-field snub.
Babar added, “The way the bowlers, Shaheen (Afridi) and Harris Rauf bowled in particular, was very impressive.”
“I think we gave them 10 runs a lot, but it’s cricket and it can happen. We lose wickets early, but I want to give credit to Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali. Every game is important. We want to take it one by one.” Do well in all areas of the game. ”
Malik (26 not out) and Ali (27 not out) both played important knocks to take Pakistan home.

Disappointed with the result, New Zealand captain Ken Williamson believes his team could “not give some nails to the back end” against the in-front side. He said it was “quite hard to swallow”.
“It’s very disappointing. Unfortunately we couldn’t do anything backwards but we were against a very good team in Pakistan and congratulations to them,” Williamson said.
“As soon as we missed our length it was pretty clear that our shots had some value. It’s a very strong Pakistan team and definitely worth a look.”

Asked about their upcoming match against India, Williamson added, “That’s the way it is. It’s a short-distance game, we go to different venues against India.
“We’ll have conversations and play accordingly. There were some good decisions, but there are very few gaps in these low scoring games.”
Rauf thanked his fielders for complementing his great bowling.
“The team fielded very well and supported the bowlers. The fans supported us everywhere and helped us win,” Rauf said.
“I’ve been playing here for two years. We support each other and discuss our plans with each other. It gives us confidence and support.”

Asked about the most important dismissal of his four wickets, he said: “(Martin) Guptill’s dismissal was the key. They were building momentum at the time. I just want to thank the Lahore Calendars who supported me a lot. They are the reason I came here. ”
Chasing a modest target, Pakistan lost captain Azam by just 9 runs for 26 in the sixth over.
Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez were all out for 11 runs but Mohammad Rizwan scored 33 runs.
However, Ali and the experienced owner joined the force and snatched the match from New Zealand through their exploitation.
