The demand for cyber crime investigations and white collar investigations is growing and so will the demand for students specializing in cyber forensics, forensic accounting and questionable document examinations. Our forensic industry has trained manpower, but their employment is not well organized. Job opportunities, especially those related to conventional crime investigations, lie primarily with government agencies that are part of the justice delivery system.

“Forensic careers seem very exciting and dramatic, but students get frustrated when they have difficulty getting a job. Those who wish to pursue a forensic career in corporate crime will find opportunities in multinationals such as PwC India and Ernst & Young India.

Forensic video surveillance and face sketching techniques are crucial for catching criminals. Problems such as Naxalism and insurgency can be eradicated by putting pressure on other crimes using forensics. Most institutions offer extensive courses to train people. Collaboration with advanced forensic laboratories will go a long way in nurturing emerging forensic scientists. ”
After completing a course in forensic science, students can work in forensic laboratories, banks, MNCs, industries, hospitals and CBI and other agencies. The average start up of forensic technicians is between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 9 lakh per annum.
Himanshu Khajuria, an assistant professor at the Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences, said, “Forensic science plays an important role in the investigation of serious crimes. Courts often rely on forensic investigations for success in criminal cases. However, the lack of forensic infrastructure and the lack of trained personnel adversely affect India’s criminal justice system. This leads to the hill behind the court case. A high quality BSc (H), MSc and PhD in Forensic Science is a must if we want to catch the rise of organized crime. The average salary package usually starts from Rs 3.6 lakh and can go up to Rs 12 lakh annually. Students can work in state and central forensic science laboratories at different levels.
