Students are allowed admission in UG class with downloaded marksheet, Times of India

Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), which publishes the results of Plus II final year students, has delayed issuing original certificates and marksheets to these students. Reason: The council is taking time to verify the data and print the certificate.

Due to this disruption in the provision of original certificates, marksheets and migration certificates to the students who have passed Plus-2 this year, the students could not submit the original certificates for verification at the time of admission.

In light of this, the Department of Higher Education on Monday asked degree colleges to accept self-attested downloaded marksheets along with a pledge submitted by students at the time of admission. Rajesh Kumar Sahu, deputy director of the performance tracking cell of the higher education department, said in a letter to the principals of government and private degree colleges under his department that the degree colleges would verify the downloaded marksheets given to selected students on the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) website.

He said that if selected for admission, students of ICSE / CBSE / other boards must submit the downloaded marksheet and certificate attested by the head of the institution, if the original documents have not yet been submitted by the concerned student / council. He added that they would not be prevented from being admitted.

Sahu said the colleges should promise to submit the original certificates and marksheets from the admitted students within 15 days from the date of admission for the first selection and within seven days for the second selection.

“Students of ICSE / CBSE / other boards have to give one month from the date of admission. If they cannot submit the original migration certificate, their admission will be canceled,” Sahu said. .

CHSE chairman Gangadhar Sahu told TOI that they have set a target of completing the printing of the original certificate within a week. “We need to verify the input given by the college before printing the certificate. Then we’ll print it. We hope the certificate can be distributed among the students after one week.
