New Delhi: Annoyed Amarinder Singh! Not Captain Amarinder Singh but the goalkeeper of the Indian football team who shared his name with the former Chief Minister of Punjab and inadvertently got caught up in the political turmoil in Punjab.
The footballer called on the media fraternity to stop tagging him incorrectly instead of the former chief minister in tweets and posts on social media, where journalists and others are sending their views and speculations about what the former Punjab chief minister will do after the state. Congress chief and bitter rival Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned unexpectedly.
Taking to Twitter, Amarinder wrote: “Dear news outlet, journalist, I am Amarinder Singh, the flag of the Indian football team, the goalkeeper of India and the former Chief Minister of the state of Punjab. Please stop tagging me.”

Captain Amarinder Singh also responded to the footballer on Twitter. The former chief minister posted: “My young friend, I sympathize with you. Good luck for your games.”

Captain Amarinder Singh 1 Punjab resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab in September.
