“School and college fee collection has become a threat in Andhra Pradesh. The fee structure at the state level should be informed. This obligation is happening in other states but not in Andhra Pradesh for almost two decades. So. Private colleges and schools are collecting extra fees,” Justice R. Kant Rao told ANI
Justice Rao said, “When the state government started the process for notification, it was challenged in court. Last academic year, we ordered a 300 per cent reduction in school fees in the wake of the epidemic.”

“The Supreme Court has stayed the government order (GO) for technical reasons but directed that students should not be barred from going online or physical classes, their results should not be withheld, etc. The verdict was complete in favor of the students,” he added.
Rao further said that the state government has issued a circular in support of the SC directive to fix the fee structure. But some college circulars have been challenged in the High Court. With all aspects in mind, we have set reasonable fees for schools and junior colleges. Accordingly, a government order was issued, if necessary we will amend the GO.
Colleges that have already collected additional fees have been asked to adjust the amount and refund the extra amount to parents. “We urge parents to ask the college management to collect only the recommended fees, or complain to our commission. We will investigate and take action,” Rao said.
The APSERMC chairman said, “The highest schools and colleges have expressed satisfaction with our recommended fee structure, seeking only 10 to 20 per cent increase in management fees.
Rao added, “However, if we are ready to amend the fee structure if the school or college management proves that their expenditure is outside our prescribed limits. Ready to allow higher fee structure. We have to make an application within 15 days from the date of their GO.” I will verify and give permission. ”
The Andhra Pradesh government has issued two GEOs for fixing fees for private schools and junior colleges. Accordingly, the annual fee for admission to junior college ranges from Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000. And fees for the school range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 18,000.
All fees except hostel and transportation are included in this range. There are also caps on hostel fees and transportation charges. Based on the recommendations of the commission, the government has fixed charges for coaching classes for entrance exams like NEET, IIT etc.
