The SOP will ensure that “the applicant school education board adheres to the Right to Education (RTE) Act, the existing National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and has qualifications for teachers of school affiliated with the National Education Policy and the Board. Determined by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).” . ” Equality will be provided on the basis of fulfillment of SOP.

AIU Secretary General Pankaj Mittal said, “There are times when registering an organization or a job, organizations are not sure whether it is a valid board or whether the certificates issued are equivalent to other boards. So far, we (AIU) have been working with Indian boards on par with foreign boards such as International Bachelor or Cambridge International. For Indian boards, there is an informal arrangement with COBSE (Board of School Education Council of India). But so far there is no formal arrangement. ”
There are more than 60 boards in India and the number is growing. Ashok Ganguly, former CBSE chairperson, said there was a wide disparity in curriculum design, transaction and evaluation. “There has to be some kind of uniformity so that students move from one board to another or move vertically for university admissions,” Ganguly said.
“After NEP1986, an attempt was made by the Professor Amrik Singh Committee. The 1992 report recommended some path-breaking to improve the functioning of the boards and their balance, but nothing has been done since. After that only COBSE became the highest advisory body. This time it is a sincere effort and it is hoped that at this point a specific structure will be created in which different boards will have to operate. There should also be specific guidelines for providing equality to private school boards, ”Ganguly added.
Once a 10-member expert committee decides which aspects of AIU should be considered when determining the equivalence of certificates issued by different boards, it will prepare the SOP. Once it is approved and issued by the Ministry of Education, AIU will invite applications from the boards. The first meeting of the committee will be called on December 27, 2021.
According to a senior NIOS official, “As planned in AIU, NEP 2020, all school education boards are likely to issue guidelines for implementation of the new NCF and NEP recommendations, including a standard clear-cut scheme / test by-pass. Law and affiliation process. ”
