Dr. Virendra Bangru said that in the Indian tradition, women are held in high esteem and have contributed to every step of life. Mrs. Dolly Tiku Arwal recited the famous Kashmiri poet of Lal Ded and briefly described the women saints and philosophers of Kashmir. Narendra Safia said that our rulers have a complete chronology but we do not have women saints and scholars. Inayet Gul said there was no gender discrimination in the ishi shi order. Mrs. Ujjwal Handu talks about the influence of Vedic, Trika and Upanishads on the words of Lal Ded.
Miss Arosa Ashraf said that Lal Ded was the first mysterious poet of Kashmir and one can infer from her that the women of Kashmir are generous and educated. Chashul Mahaldar shared his experience while directing a documentary for IGNCA and stressed the need to create awareness about the collective culture of Kashmir.
Ali Ahsan gave a detailed account of the female disciples of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din, while Mrs. Deba Nazir said that women have been empowered in Kashmir for centuries and women have contributed in all walks of life.
Sunil Raina Rajnaka said that Kashmir is the motherland and its place of worship is located in the entire valley.
Earlier, Sumant Sarathi Sharma, Faculty Coordinator, One of the Greatest India, SMVD University, welcomed the speakers.
