Sharad Pawar meets Maharashtra CM, discusses political, Covid-19 situation | India News – Times of India

Mumbai: Discussed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the political situation in the state and the Maha Vikas Aghadi government dealing with the Kovid-19 situation.
Sources said on Thursday that the meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s official residence ‘Varsha’ in Mumbai late Wednesday evening.
This was the first meeting between the two leaders after Pawar (80) recovered from gall bladder surgery.
The Thackeray-led Shiv Sena shares power with the NCP and Congress in Maharashtra.
NCP sources said that the deliberations were focused on the political developments in the state.
He said that the two leaders discussed the management of Kovid-19 of the MVA government.
Sources said Pawar expressed satisfaction with the government implementing restrictions such as lockdown to deal with the Kovid-19 epidemic and prevent a second wave of viral infections.
He said that issues like relaxation of restrictions and reservation in promotion in government jobs are likely to be discussed in the cabinet meeting to be held on Thursday.
The Maharashtra government earlier this month extended the lockdown-like restrictions in the state to 1 June to break the series of Kovid-19s.
Pawar underwent gallbladder surgery at a private hospital in Mumbai last month.
Earlier, the NCP president underwent an emergency endoscopy on 30 March to remove a stone from his bile duct.
