shah: Centre striving to ensure development of border areas: Amit Shah | India News – Times of India

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the central government was trying to ensure development in the border areas.
Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Assam, reviewed the situation along the Bangladesh border from the Mankachar sector and held a closed-door meeting here to discuss operational strategies with senior BSF officials.
The home minister said there was a lack of development in the border areas, which has resulted in displacement of people and “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is constantly trying to bring development in the region”.
The latest technology will be provided to enhance the security of BSF personnel posted in the border areas, he tweeted.
During his visit, Shah is scheduled to attend a number of events in the northeastern state, including the celebration of the first anniversary of the Himanta Bishwa Sharma-led government.
The Union Minister reached Guwahati late on Sunday night.
He will lay the foundation stone of CENWOSTO-II (Central Workshop and Store) for the Central Armed Paramilitary Force (CAPF) at Kelenchi in Tamulpur District and will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony.
Shah will later inaugurate the census office at Amingaon in Kamrup district and the Superspeciality Cardiothoracic and Neuroscience Center at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital in the evening.
On Tuesday, he will present the ‘President’s Color’ to the Assam Police at a function in Guwahati and will also speak to the officers and staff of the force.
He will then address a public meeting on the occasion of the one-year anniversary at the Sarma-led Dispensary Office.
Shah is scheduled to return to New Delhi on Tuesday evening.
