“Considering the declining positivity of the Covid exam in Tripura and the loss of education already taking place, the Department of Education (Schools), with the approval of the State Disaster Management Authority, has decided to start physical classes for class students from August 25 to 6,” Director Chandni Chandran has said in a notification. According to the official notification, all schools have to work in single or double shifts, depending on the space available in the classroom.
Authorities have been asked to ensure that alternative seats in the school remain vacant.
Students and teachers have been asked to strictly adhere to the COVID-1 nor rules.
“Since teachers in grades five and below do not have the opportunity to take regular classes, they will be engaged in a catch-up campaign for the new Disha program (an initiative of the state government to make all students efficient and capable),” the statement said.
Colleges, institutes and universities (general, technical and professional) will reopen from Wednesday, according to a separate notification issued by Director of Higher Education NC Sharma.
The faculty has been instructed to arrange additional classes if necessary.
If adequate space is not available or there is a shortage of teachers, institutions are asked to set up separate time slots for batches, or any other arrangement they deem appropriate.
The college hostels, however, will only reopen on September 1, maintaining all guidelines issued by the state government, the notification added.
