Punjab Congress crisis: ‘Solution will emerge … some things take time,’ says Harish Rawat after meeting with Navjot Sidhu | India News – Times of India

New Delhi: The crisis in the Punjab Congress is not over yet, though the party is still fighting for a ceasefire between Chief Minister Charanjit Channy and state branch chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Senior Congress leader Harish Rawat, who is in-charge of the Punjab unit, said, “Navjot Singh Sidhu and Charanjit Channy have talked about something, a solution will come out … there are some things that take time.”
Sidhu, who met Harish Rawat and party general secretary Casey Venugopal at the Congress headquarters, was asked to act as Punjab Congress president and strengthen the party’s organizational structure.
He resigned as the head of the Punjab Congress on September 28 due to some bureaucratic changes in Chief Minister Channy.
However, whatever may come as a relief for the crisis-stricken team, the cricketer-turned-politician has said he will take any decision taken by Gandhi.
Coming out of the meeting, Sidhu said, “I have expressed my concerns about Punjab and the Punjab Congress to the party high command. I have full confidence in the Congress president, Priyanka G and Rahul G. The decision they will take will be for the betterment of the Congress and Punjab. I will follow the instructions. ”
Sidhu’s resignation, which caused a crisis in the state unit, has not yet been accepted by the party.
Charanjit Singh Channy was sworn in as the 1st Chief Minister of Punjab on September 20, a few days after Captain Amarinder Singh resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab, after months of conflict between him and Navjot Singh Sidhu.
