NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a nationwide education and skills development policy makers through a video conference on Thursday to mark the end of one year of reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

He will also launch multiple initiatives in the education sector.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Prime Minister will introduce the Academic Bank of Credit which will provide multiple entry and exit options to students in higher education; First Year Engineering Program in Regional Languages ​​and Guidelines for Internationalization of Higher Education Prog

Initiatives to be introduced include three-month play-based school preparation modules for Grade 1 students; Indian Sign Language as a subject at secondary level; NCERT is an integrated teacher training program designed by Nishta 2.0; Success (structural assessment for learning level analysis), a skills-based assessment framework for grades 3, 5 and 8 in CBSE schools; A website dedicated to Artificial Intelligence.

Further, the event will witness the inauguration of the National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR) and the National Education Technology Forum (NETF).

These initiatives will mark an important step towards achieving the goals of NEP 2020 and make the education sector more vibrant and accessible.

NIP, 2020 is a guide philosophy to change the landscape of education, to make education holistic and to lay a solid foundation for a self-reliant India.

It was the first education policy of the 21st century and replaced the forty-four-year-old National Policy (NPE) in education policy in 1986.
