Some private schools plan to open late until November 15 for various reasons. “Many schools are planning to start classes on campus from November 15 so that there is continuity between Diwali,” said R Manjunath Srivastava, joint secretary of CBSE, ICSE and State Board Private School Management Association (CISPMAM) and head of legal cell. . “Schools are now conducting intermediate examinations. So, most want to delay the resumption for the initial sections. Classes are being held successfully on campus for 6th graders, Srivastava said. “Schools are strictly following the SOP. So, there is no reason to worry, ”he said.

D Shashikumar, general secretary of the Associated Management of Primary and Secondary Schools, said most private schools that follow the state syllabus will start physical classes from Monday. “But a section of CBSE and ICSE-affiliated schools are delaying the reopening because many parents are worried about sending their children to school,” he said.

Sabita Kulkarni, a guardian of a school-going child from Mysore city, has admitted that she is apprehensive. “We’re reading about new developments in the UK and China, etc. Today, most parents have only one child so no one wants to take a chance.”

Meanwhile, Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh said he would discuss the matter with officials and stakeholders.
