Police arrested 90 people at England matches during Euros | Football News – Times of India

A total of 922 people were arrested in England’s home matches in the 2020-21 season, including 90 at the European Championships, the Home Office said in a statement on Thursday.
The Football Association of England has conducted an independent review to see the chaos during the Euro 2020 title fight against Italy at Wembley on 11 July.
The final, Italy won in a penalty shootout, was marred by clashes between fans and officials in and around the stadium.
British police have arrested several people and said one officer was injured after ticketless fans broke through a security fence before the game.
Home Office figures show that of the 90 football-related arrests at Euro 2020, 39 were in matches against Italy, 228 against Scotland and 18 against Denmark in the semi-finals.
The statement added: “Six more football-related arrests have been made at Wembley in connection with the Euro 2020 international team. All six were between Italy and Spain.
UEFA, the governing body of European football, has said it has appointed an ethics and discipline inspector to investigate the chaos outside Wembley.
British media have reported that UEFA may announce its decision with England early next week to play a home match without potential supporters.
