He said the board took the decision after the approval of Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh. Prior to the physical class, the current academic year for senior intermediate students began about a month ago on July 12 in virtual format.

Meanwhile, the secretary directed the principals of all intermediate colleges to make necessary arrangements for conducting physical classes from next Monday following the standard operating procedure and coronavirus protocol.

The southern state still logs an average of 2,000 coronavirus infections per day.

Unlike first-year students, second-year students do not have to go through the mandatory online admission system introduced in the current academic year because they were admitted last year and were automatically promoted to second year.

Recently, Ramakrishna directed all junior colleges to refund students by illegally collecting fees for unauthorized offline admissions in the 2021-22 academic year.

A large number of corporate colleges have illegally admitted first-year students and even proceeded to conduct online classes without board permission.

Not only admitting, they also started demanding higher fees from the students and threatened some students that they would not be included in the online class due to lack of fees.

“The board is introducing online admissions from the 2021-22 academic year. It is learned that some students have already been admitted to some colleges and have paid the college fees before the announcement of the online admission process.” Note

Ramakrishna Saf informed that the board is not responsible for the students who have already taken this illegal admission and paid the college fees.

He directed RIOs across the state to identify the wrong colleges, illegally admit first year students and take necessary action including dissatisfaction.

Aiming to eradicate decades of widespread abuse and arbitrary commercialization of intermediate education in the state, the board has introduced online admissions only from this academic year.
