NEW DELHI: BJP president JP Nadda on Saturday expressed confidence that his party would win the five state assembly elections with a large majority as soon as the Election Commission announces the election schedule.
The people will once again bless the BJP, which will return to power with a large majority and take development work to new heights, he said.
The BJP is in power in four of the five constituencies – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur – while it is fighting alongside former chief minister Amarinder Singh and an Akali faction to fight its rivals, including the ruling Congress in Punjab.
Welcoming the Election Commission’s announcement of the voting schedule, Nadda urged the BJP workers to participate in this grand celebration of democracy with full vigor while abiding by the Kovid-related and other guidelines laid down by the electoral body.
BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh said the party would contest the elections in five states with all its might and strength and form a government with a huge majority.
Elections will be held in seven stages between February 10 and March 7 and counting will take place on March 10.
The BJP said in a tweet, “We call on all BJP workers to ensure the victory of the party in all these states, following all the Kovid protocols.”
