The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has seized a Pakistani boat with 10 crew members in Indian waters off the coast of Gujarat, a state defense spokesman said on Sunday.
The Yassin was caught near an ICG ship during an operation on Saturday night, officials said.
“Yasin, a Pakistani boat with 10 crew members, was detained in Indian waters in the Arabian Sea during a night raid by the Indian Coast Guard on January 08. The boat is being brought to Porbandar for further questioning,” the official said in a tweet.
On September 15 last year, the ICG in a similar operation seized a Pakistani boat with 12 crew members in Indian waters off the coast of Gujarat.
The use of such boats for drug trafficking along the state coast has also increased.
On December 20 last year, a Pakistani fishing boat with six crew members and 77 kg of heroin worth about Rs 400 crore was caught in Indian waters off the coast of Gujarat in a joint operation with the ICG state anti-terror squad.
