Over 8.43 crore unutilized Covid vaccine doses available with states, UTs to be administered | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: 8,43,17,810 doses of the Covid-1 vaccine are still available in states and union territories, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday.
The ministry further said that 96,75,07,995 banquet levels have so far been provided to the states and union territories through free channels and directly through the state procurement department.
Over 8.43 crore (8,43,17,810) balances and unused covid vaccine doses are still available to be administered in the State / UT.
The central government is committed to speeding up and expanding the scope of the Covid-1 vaccine across the country. The new phase of universalization of Covid-1 vaccine has started from 21st June.
The vaccination campaign has been further accelerated by the availability of more vaccines, improved visibility of vaccine availability in the States and Union Territories and streamlining of the vaccine supply chain.
As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India is assisting the States and Union Territories by providing free covid vaccine.
In the new phase of universalization of the Covid-1 vaccine campaign, the central government will collect and supply 755 per cent of the vaccines produced by vaccine manufacturers in the states and union territories (free of cost).
