Number of Indian candidates appearing for IELTS exams has increased by 15% since pre-covid year – Times of India

The number of candidates taking the IELTS test in India for study or immigration to English-speaking countries has increased by 15 per cent since the pre-epidemic year, according to official figures. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a worldwide standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English speakers. The test is trusted by more than 10,000 companies worldwide as an indicator of English language proficiency.

IDP Education Limited, the owner of IELTS in India, shared these figures.

Last week, IDP opened 23 new offices across India, including Gandhinagar, Anand, Raipur, Shimla, Kurukshetra, Jammu, Trichy, Thrissur, Patna, Guwahati, Calicut and Goa.

“Students will now have access to world-class counseling services in both virtual and personal modes through these new offices for study at prestigious universities and institutions across Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Ireland,” Kumar said.

“From courses and university selection, application submission, offer acceptance, visa assistance, housing search, applying for health insurance, opening a bank account, etc., these new offices have dedicated study specialists abroad to help students complete their study abroad.” “She said.
