NIT Rourkela: Three students get Rs 455 lakh package, bag bag job with salary of Rs 1 lakh – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Three students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela have got jobs with an annual salary package of Rs 45 lakh, and nine of them have been paid Rs 43 lakh a year in placement drive this year, officials said. The institute, however, did not disclose the names of students who received higher packages as per the policy.

“This year, taking placement drive was a tough job. Despite the epidemic, three students were given an annual salary package of Rs 45 lakh, which is the highest ever, and nine students were given Rs 43 lakh a year,” said Umesh C. Pati. . , Head of Training and Placement Center, NIT Rourkela.

With 84 companies offering more than Rs 10 lakh annually to 253 students, the average CTC was around Rs 9.36 LPA, which is four per cent more than the previous year. A total of 211 students have received prestigious internship offers from majors around the world such as Microsoft, Barclays, Bajaj Auto, Citibank and Qualcomm with a maximum stipend of up to Rs 1 lakh per month.

So far, the institute has received more than 841 full-time offers. The 256 companies participating in the placement drive came from various sectors such as software, manufacturing, electronics, finance, education, petroleum, construction and top public sector units. -Dot, IOCL, ”said the husband.

The Recruitment Statistics report indicates that the IT and software sector has so far emerged as the top employer (41 per cent of total recruitment). The computer science and engineering departments got 187 jobs, the highest among all the other departments.

More than 230 postgraduate students have received job offers so far. The undergraduate students also did well, with the Department of Chemical Engineering securing 100 percent, followed by the Department of Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering, which achieved 98 percent.

Among others, electronics and machinery engineering and electrical engineering accounted for 92 percent and 88 percent of the space, respectively.
