VARANASI: Varanasi police on Thursday arrested Dr Om Prakash Singh, a member of a gang of NEET solicitors in the Kakori area of ​​Lucknow and recovered his identity card, OMR sheets, various checks and other documents from him.

Varanasi Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh said, “A crime branch team formed to nab the members of the NEET solicitors’ gang has succeeded in arresting Dr. Om Prakash Singh, a resident of Amrapali Yojana Basant Kunk in Kakori area of ​​Lucknow. Thakurganj and Kakori police had earlier sent him to jail on charges of being involved in cases of admission fraud and job examination. He was wanted in several cases filed with Thakurganj and Kakori police stations in Lucknow and Sarnath police station in Varanasi. ”

During interrogation, he admitted that he had contacted Kanhaiyalal in Varanasi through his associates Dr Sharad Singh, Dr Osama and Dr Afroz to fill up the NEET exam forms for many candidates. He also arranged for the solicitors of the Patna-based gang led by PK alias Nilesh and Bikash Kumar.

Varanasi police had leaked to the gang of solvers during NEET (UG) -2021 in September 2021 and an FIR was lodged with Sarnath police station in this regard. So far, 14 people have been arrested in connection with the NEET solution gang racket, while others are out of police custody.

Recently, the Varanasi district court rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of the gang members including Dr Afroz, Muntajir, Anshu alias Ashutosh, Divya Jyoti Nag and Mrityunjay.


According to the Commissioner of Police, the court has issued declaration against the fugitive accused under 82 CrPC. Police team has been directed to intensify the operation to arrest them.

The gang’s mastermind, PK alias Nilesh, his accomplice Ritesh was arrested on November 18, 2021 near the Ring Road flyover in Sarnath area. His gang has been active in different states of the country for the last 5-6 years. He used to take Rs 30 lakh to Rs 49 lakh from a candidate of NEET.

Ritesh, who, with the help of his brother-in-law and a clerk in the culture and youth affairs department of the Bihar government secretariat in Patna, received question papers for various competitive examinations conducted by the UP Service Commission in Uttarakhand. And Bihar. Ritesh’s sister Dr Priya, who completed MBBS from IGIGIMS, Patna in 2019, is also involved in the gang.
