New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today tweeted a commemorative message on the successive birth anniversary of his former cabinet colleague and late “friend” Ram Bilas Paswan, adding that he missed “his presence too much”.

“Today is the birthday of my friend the late Ram Bilas Paswan Zia. I miss his presence. He was one of the most experienced MPs and administrators in India,” Modi tweeted.

The Prime Minister added, “His contribution to public service and empowerment of the lower class will always be remembered.”

Ram Vilas Paswan, who died last October after heart surgery, was the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Chirag Paswan, son of Ram Bilas Paswan, is currently fighting against his uncle Pashupati Pars for control of his Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).

“Happy Birthday Papa G. I miss you so much. I’m trying my best to keep my promise to you. No matter where you are, you’ll be sad to see me fight in this difficult situation. I’m your son, I won’t” I know your blessing Always with me, ”tweeted Chirag Pawan, who had earlier announced that he would be making a“ Blessing Journey ”from Hajipur in Bihar on the occasion.

Five MPs, including Chirag Paswan’s cousin, revolted against his leadership after the LJP plunged into crisis and elected Pashupati Kumar Paras as the new leader of the parliamentary party.

Chirag Paswan said he hoped to help the BJP retain control of the outfit during the fight between him and his uncle Pashupati Kumar Pars.

Prime Minister Modi regularly greets both his party members and opposition leaders on their birthdays.

In March, he greeted BJP alliance chief Nitish Kumar in Bihar; Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Cabinet Minister Smriti Irani, who defeated Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in the US pocket-borough. The Prime Minister wished the Chief Minister of Punjab and Congress leader Amarinder Singh a happy birthday.

In December, the Prime Minister wished Congress President Sonia Gandhi a “long and healthy life” on her birthday.
