Under the partnership, the company will offer a customized three-year degree course in retail management with specialization in automated retail with TISS-SVE.

The program will focus on providing young people with industry-relevant technical and soft skills that make them easily employable in the automobile retail price chain. The three-year program will include one year of classroom training and then two years of on-the-job training at a Maruti Suzuki approved dealership.
“One of the major challenges facing the automobile industry is the availability of skilled workers. Through our collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences-School of Vocational Education, we want to bridge this gap,” said Manoj Agrawal, Executive Vice President, MSI.
He added that the mandatory 2-month job of the job will provide students with in-depth knowledge, prepare them to face real life challenges and prepare them for the industry.
The Maruti and TISS-SVE co-created course syllabus, compliant with the UGC guidelines and includes full spectrum business processes of the automobile trade.
In addition to hands-on experience at the dealership, students will be taught Japanese work culture, soft skills, and more.
The first batch session of the 2021-22 academic year will start from October 2021.

MSI’s MoU with TISS-SVE is a continuation of efforts to provide skills-based training programs to youth across the country.
The company had earlier launched similar courses at Sri Bishwakarma Skill University in Gurugram, Haryana, GLS University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and Pune Savitribai Phule Pune University in Maharashtra.
