KL Rahul Named Lucknow IPL Franchise Captain, Marcus Stoinis And Ravi Bishnoi Are The Other Draft Picks | Cricket News

KL Rahul has been nominated as the captain of Lucknow franchise ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction. Marcus Stones and Ravi Vishnu are the other two draft picks of the team. This put an end to several days of speculation after the Punjab Kings revealed that Rahul had turned down a franchise offer to name the players they had retained. Rahul has been a run machine at the top of the order for Punjab since moving to the franchise but could not lead the team to a knock-out as captain.

Rahul has been taken in rupees. Stoinis and Vishnu have signed a contract worth Rs 17 crore. 9.2 crore and Rs. 4 crore respectively.

Marcus Stones is a huge pick for the Lucknow team as he has been an integral part of the Delhi Capitals team for the last few seasons, when the team qualified for their first IPL final (2020) and took a place in the knock-outs. The remaining two seasons (2019 and 2021). Not only that, Stoinis was a key member of the Australian team that won the ICC T20 World Cup last year and was also in great form in the ongoing Big Bash League.

Third pick is another former player of Punjab Kings. Impressive young spinner Ravi Bisnoi has been named as the third pick by Lucknow and this decision clearly has KL Rahul’s stamp because Vishnu played and did well under Rahul’s captaincy.
