KKR’s positive intent on and off field is the reason behind the team’s turnaround, says Venkatesh Iyer | Cricket News – Times of India

Sharjah: Kolkata Knight Riders opener Venkatesh Iyer has credited the team’s great change in the second leg of the IPL for the positive intentions shown by the players and management on and off the field.
After a weakness in the first half where they lost five of their seven matches, KKR advanced to the final with seven of their nine matches won in the second leg of the UAE.
After a three-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier on Wednesday, two-time champions Chennai Super Kings will face off in the final in Dubai.

“KKR is playing the brand of cricket and by KKR I mean not just the cricketers who are playing there but the whole management.
In a video posted on the IPL website, IKKR chief consultant David Hussey said, “They’re the way we’re thinking, the way we’re turning the tide for us.”
“The intentions that we show, not just on the field, but off the field, have brought us here,” he added.
Chasing a general target of 16, Iyer scored 55 off 1 ball and ensured KKR’s victory against DC with Shubhaman Gill ().

“I wasn’t chasing 16 runs, I went there to bat. I just wanted to play the first six overs and see what the situation was,” he said.
Asked about the final against CSK in Dubai on Friday, he said: “I will not consider it a final or big game. I will just play my game and give my best and the whole team is going to do that.”
