Killer of Jammu and Kashmir taxi driver among 2 TRF terrorists shot dead in encounters | India News – Times of India

Srinagar: Two Pakistan-backed TRF militants, including one who has killed seven civilians in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 10 days, were shot dead in separate encounters with police in Bandipora in north Kashmir and Anantnag in south Kashmir on Monday.
IGP (Kashmir Range) Vijay Kumar announced through his official Twitter handle that the slain Imtiaz Ahmad Dar was attacked in Bandipora last week where Mohammad Shafi Lone, president of the local Taxi Drivers Association in Hajin’s Shahgund, was killed.
The identity of another TRF terrorist who was shot dead by police in the second encounter of the day in Anantnag has not yet been ascertained. A policeman was injured in a fire in Khagund Verinage.
Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the latest terrorist attack targeting civilians. Mastermind Imtiaz was found in Hajin’s Gund Jahangir area on Monday morning, police said, adding that he was shot dead in the encounter.
“Based on specific information, a team of J&K police fired shots from inside when they were about to enter the dormitory of an overground TRF worker. Just as we suspected, Imtiaz was there,” an official said.
Police found a pistol and a hand grenade near the slain terrorist.
As of late Monday, a third clash between terrorists and a joint team of police, 34 National Rifles of the Army and the CRPF was reported in the Tulran area of ​​Shopian district in south Kashmir. Police said about three terrorists were hiding until 11pm.
