Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister Veena George and Public Education Minister V Shivanakutty on Tuesday visited Kovid-1. In Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has handed over guidelines for reopening schools in the state from November 1.

The newly issued guidelines state that schools will reopen in hybrid mode. The current online class will run for those who cannot reach the school directly.

The guideline states that in the first step, each class will be divided into batches to limit the number of children in the class. However, the guidelines state that such batch adjustment is not mandatory in low number of student schools.

According to the guidelines, specially able children should not come to school in the first place.

The directive states that all teaching and learning staff should be vaccinated against Covid-1 in two doses.

A school-level helpline should be set up as per the guidelines. Detailed guidelines on academic activities will be issued later. Meetings will be held under the leadership of district collectors including school level staff council meetings, PTA meetings and various meetings at different levels.

All teachers have to go to school on weekdays.


Schools should keep a medical examination register and prepare sick rooms for symptomatic children.

Meanwhile, Kerala on Tuesday reported 75 new Covid-1 cases, bringing the total active caseload in the state to 1,2,441.

According to the state health minister’s office, 151 people have died due to Kovid-1 to in the last two hours and the total number of deaths in the state has risen to 25.67.

In the last 2 hours, 13,878 people have recovered from the virus and 93,202 samples have been tested for the virus.


A dose of 3,60,57,645 Covid-1 vaccine has been given in the state.

In India, meanwhile, a total of 1, 34 new Covid-1 cases have been recorded in the last 2 hours, of which 23 have died.
