The MoU was signed and exchanged between IET Jammu Director Prof Manoj Singh Gaur and JSCL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abani Lavasa.
According to a JSCL spokesperson, IIT Jammu’s professional guidelines will cover a wide range of areas, including urban mobility, urban beauty and development, tourism and e-governance, e-governance and IT interventions, waste management, riverfront development, ICT / ICC integration, Mobility, energy saving plans and any other domain of mutual interest that is identified by JSCL.

It was also agreed in the MoU that JSCL IIT Jammu would create a robust mechanism for support and services with expert advice, including urban planning and facilitation for academics, counseling and internships and fellowships for students.
According to the MoU, IIT Jammu will allocate staff and faculty instructors for the studies identified by JSCL. The Institute will facilitate the identification of best practices globally used by JSCL in data integration, research, citizen outreach programs and behavioral assessments. IIT Jammu will share information and data and will have the support of other educational / research institutes / consultants / industries working in this field in India or abroad to achieve the objectives stated by JSCL. It will provide access to the IIT Jammu Library and other technical resources to JSCL team members or persons identified by JSCL to achieve mutually agreed goals.
On the other hand, JSCL will assist IIT Jammu in collecting relevant information, conducting seminars, civic outreach activities etc. , And other partners in the program organized by IIT Jammu.
It was decided to form a Joint Working Group (JWG) to facilitate the commencement of projects under the MoU. It will have heads and faculties of the concerned departments at IIT-Jammu and relevant members from JSCL at the same level.
The MoU will remain in force for two years from the date of signing and can be further renewed by mutual consent.
