Hardik Pandya has been named captain of the Ahmedabad franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. Rashid Khan and Shubhaman Gill are the other two draft picks of the team. Hardik, who was not picked up by the Mumbai Indians early last year, has been one of the leaders of the MI team since his debut. This is a huge opportunity and responsibility for Hardik, who has found himself out of the Indian team after a poor performance in last year’s ICC T20 World Cup.
Hardik and Rashid have been taken for Rs 15 crore and Shubhaman has been contracted for Rs 8 crore.

It will be interesting to see if Hardick returns to bowling responsibilities for his new franchise, something he hasn’t done since his back injury.
Another big name picked by the Ahmedabad franchise is Rashid Khan. The Afghan spinner has been the backbone of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling department for several years now and is certainly one of the biggest draws in the franchise T20 league around the world.
Shubhaman Gill is a talented Indian opener who was given a chance by the Kolkata Knight Riders and the former Under-19 World Cup winner repaid the trust shown to him through some good performances.
KKR neglected to retain Gill because of his poor performance last season and the team decided to replace him with Venkatesh Iyer, whose reputation in the second half of IPL 2021 led KKR to the final.
Here is the record of three players in IPL for several years
