Integration of AYUSH knowledge with school curriculum: Government says curriculum outline has been drafted – Times of India

New Delhi: A team of experts from the National Institute of Ayurveda, a deemed-to-be university, has developed a curriculum based on Ayurveda and yoga for students from nursery to class 12 and sent it to the school department. This was informed in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday regarding education and literacy.

In a written reply to a question on whether the government has any plans to integrate AYUSH knowledge with the curriculum from school level, AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonwal said, “Yes, the National Education Policy Implementation Committee, 2020 department includes experts from AYUSH Ministry of Higher Education.”

“As per the meeting of the Implementation Committee held on July 19, 2021, a report has been shared by the Ministry of AYUSH regarding inputs for implementation of the new education policy,” he said. “Furthermore, the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), a team of experts, a reputed university under the Department of D-Novo, has designed a curriculum based on Ayurveda and yoga for school children in grades 1 to 10/12 ৷ Nursery, LKG and UKG.
