Bhopal: President Ram Nath Kobind on Saturday said India is providing the most affordable medical care in the world and people from abroad, especially neighboring countries, visit the country’s hospitals to get healthcare services.
He further said that India is fast emerging as a medical tourism hub.
“India has one of the cheapest medical facilities in the world and in hospitals, especially in Delhi, people from neighboring countries are seen to receive more treatment than local patients,” Kobind said after inaugurating a conference titled ‘Healing Manthan’. Referring to the coronavirus epidemic, Kobind said that a disease began to plague humanity two and a half years ago. “Only one or two percent of people were not affected by it,” he said.
He praised the country’s scientists and doctors for their efforts to develop a vaccine against Kovid-19 that saved lives.
“Hundreds of years ago, when an epidemic broke out, it killed billions of people at once. But now with the development of the vaccine, the situation has changed,” he added.
He said that during his recent visits to Jamaica and St. Vincent, he attended eight events where the leaders of those countries praised India for giving them anti-coronavirus vaccines in times of need.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given 50,000 free Covishield vaccine doses to Jamaica and St. Vincent. Top leaders of both countries have not tired of praising India’s humanitarian gestures,” he said.
President Kobind said that as he focused on enhancing bilateral relations between India and the countries he visited, leaders there were more interested in learning about India’s medical facilities.
“India is fast emerging as a hub for medical tourism, with healthcare facilities and institutional treatment readily available,” he said.
Under the National Health Policy announced in 2017, the government’s goal is to make quality healthcare services accessible to all at affordable prices, he said.
“The goal of this policy is to provide health care to all in a comprehensive and holistic manner. To achieve these goals, the cooperation of public and private sector organizations at all levels of society, especially the conscious citizens, is essential,” Kobind added.
Praising Arogya Bharati, a Kerala-based healthcare provider, the President said his party was active in 85 per cent of the country’s districts.
Arogya Bharati’s thinking is very clear and simple – when every person will be healthy, all families will be healthy, every family will be healthy, every village and every city will be healthy and thus the whole country will be healthy, he added.
“In this context, Arogya Bharati has made a very positive effort to raise awareness among the people and mobilize people from all medical systems. It is working in line with the national goal of prioritizing preventive and promotional healthcare with special focus on prevention. Said.
Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed the function.
