India could be the world’s adtech capital: Amitabh Kant – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Policy Commission chief executive Amitabh Kant on Friday said India could become the world’s adtech capital, with the private sector playing a key role and the public sector acting as a facilitator.

Speaking at the Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI) Virtual Conference, Kant further said that India needs to significantly improve its education results, and technology can help the country move forward a lot.

“I am confident that India can become the world’s adtech capital by acting as a facilitator for the private sector and the public sector,” he said. Kant said affordable internet connectivity and technology-based infrastructure are the only way to improve the country’s education sector.

“Relying solely on physical infrastructure will not be enough,” he noted.

According to the Prime Minister of the Policy Commission, the Indian Adtech ecosystem has the potential to grow exponentially.

“But most importantly, the country will move forward, students will learn and learning outcomes will improve,” he said, adding that extensive adtech architecture will help better use disadvantaged groups, especially for education.

Kant further said that the integration of technology in the education system will solve the problem of digital division in India and bring about a revolution in rural areas.

He added that India’s new national education policy responded to calls for clarification to integrate technology at every level.

Also speaking at the event, Baiju founder and CEO Baiju Rabindranath said through AdTech that students have the opportunity to learn, but India can also be a global talent pool for teachers.

“We talk about democratic dividends on the one hand, but if they don’t have access to education, it won’t do much good.

“On the other hand, if we provide it, it is a huge opportunity for India.”
