IIT Ropar, NIT Srinagar and NIT Jalandhar collaborate on academic and research activities – Times of India

Roper: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar and NIT Jalandhar collaborative research work, a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on academic and research activities in mutual interest with joint supervision of PhD students. The MoU is part of IIT Ropar’s initiative to welcome talented NIT students to spend their final semester at IIT Ropar, take courses and do a project. Students will go through a rigorous selection process, and subject to their continued excellence, will be considered for initial admission to the PhD program at IIT Roper. The MoUT also offers the opportunity to apply for the postdoctoral post of the faculty at NIT Srinagar or other opportunities available at IIT Ropar, the institute said.

The innovations of this AWaDH (Agriculture & Water Technology Development Hub) SPOKE Center for Agriculture and Water Research and NIT Srinagar and NIT Jalandhar will help in nation building through ‘Self-Reliant India Campaign’ in the domain of Agriculture, Food and Water Applications. Faculty, students and research scholars will innovate technical solutions to create “Evergreen India” with guidance from IIT Roper and relevant industry exchange expert consultants.

According to the MoU, state-of-the-art laboratory, facilities and faculty, students and research scholars of NIT Srinagar and NIT Jalandhar will benefit from fulfilling the objectives set by IIT Ropar at IIT Ropar. The forthcoming establishment of NIT Srinagar and NIT Jalandhar aims to promote startups, capacity-building, innovation and research in various domains related to water / industrial drainage assessment, treatment and management, land resource advancement and farm preparation, agricultural automation.
