Speaking on the occasion, IIM-Vizag Director Prof. M Chandrasekhar explained how the MoU would establish a strong relationship between HPCL and IIMV. He shared information about the various distinguished achievements of IIM-V and the special position that the Institute enjoys in the committees of IIM. “For the first time since its inception, the Institute is moving towards rapid progress and growth,” the director explained.
HPCL Director (HR) Dr Pushpa Kumar Joshi, who was present as the chief guest, said; “As part of the collaborative effort, HPCL’s senior executives and IIMV’s faculty will work together to strengthen the multifaceted academic-industry relationship and contribute to action research,” he said.
Dr Joshi Joshi added that the application of advanced skills such as digital skills, business skills and neuroscience, behavioral sciences, consciousness and HRCL and organizational practices would be of interest to HPCL, on which IIMV could be knowledge-partners. Dr. Joshi Joshi invited IIM-V to use HPCL and its facilities as a lab for its applied research work and together, the two organizations can apply for HPCL as well as create knowledge for use as a case study in epistemology.
The MoU was signed by Professor Nina Pandey, Coordinator (Administration), HPCL, K Nagesh and IIM-V on behalf of the respective organizations.
Members of IIM Visakhapatnam faculty and senior executives of HPCL were present on the occasion.
Other elements of the MoU include industrial impact on case study development by IIM-V and HPCL’s operational excellence. IIM-Vizag will conduct impact research on corporate social responsibility, public relations, training and development to identify the effectiveness and reach of HICL’s various programs and initiatives.
