Healthy Heart organized by DPSRU-Times of India

Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of illness and death worldwide, fortunately it is changeable through lifestyle changes. It takes a few minutes every day to start exercising to keep your heart healthy and functioning, which can change your health, body and mind and so walking is probably the best exercise in the world.

In this regard, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), New Delhi and the Society for Promotion and Research of Cardiovascular Sciences (SPARCS), in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals and Rotary, organized a World Health Day in collaboration with Hart. Delhi Central Club.

True to the goal of Sparks and World Heart Day, the event was organized by Heart Walk, Specialist Cardiologist Talk and Free Health Checkup Camp to raise awareness of the community and bring people together for this great cause. DPSRU Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal inaugurated the event through a Healthy Heart Walk and Health Examination in the presence of all staff, research scholars, students and other participants.

An expert discussion of the esteemed speaker, Senior Consultant, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Heart and Lung Transplantation, was organized at Dr. Ind Mukesh Goel, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, Board Room, DPSRU. The Speaker was welcomed by Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal, Vice Chancellor, DPSRU, New Delhi. Through his speech, Dr. Muk Mukesh Goel raises awareness about how our daily lives affect our heart health and how to create an action plan for heart disease prevention. He also mentions the idea of ​​the great act of donating organs to help others. The event was conducted in offline and online mode by students, research scholars, faculty and BOG members, DPSRU.

Dr. Muk Mukesh Nandave, Associate Professor, DPSRU, event organizer, ended the event by spreading awareness about the benefits of exercise and daily walking (at least 150 minutes weekly according to AHA). He thanked the Vice-Chancellor DPSRU and the Director DPSRU for congratulating the speakers and other guests on their presence.

Meanwhile, DPSRU, in collaboration with the Integrated District Health Society (IDHS), organizes a vaccination camp for its faculty / staff members and their families. Between October, November and December 2021, the immunization program was scheduled in 3 more steps in one day.
