In a paper leak, the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) on Saturday canceled the written test for the recruitment of male police constables as per a police order.
Saturday was the first day of the exam and candidates appeared in papers across 35 centers across the state in two shifts. Papers were also scheduled for Sunday.

The Congress, the state’s main opposition party, has intensified its attacks on the BJP regime after the exams were canceled.
On Sunday, Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda alleged that the examination papers were being sold “like goods in a grocery store”.
Hooda scoffed at the state government over how one paper leak scandal after another was coming out.
He said Congress would raise the issue in the upcoming assembly session.
Haryana Congress president Kumari Selja alleged in a statement that the ‘paper leak mafia’ has prospered under the present government.
Hooda, Surjewala and Selja have questioned the government’s alleged “silence” after several paper-leaking incidents surfaced, claiming that “white-collar” criminals may be involved in the whole affair.
After the exams were canceled on Saturday, Surjewala tweeted and attacked the BJP government in the state over the issue. “This is the 2nd letter (of various appointments) that has been leaked,” he said.
“Once again, police constables’ papers have been sold for millions of rupees,” he complained.
Surjewala said on Sunday that in the past, questions of Haryana teacher qualification test, excise inspector recruitment test and ITI inspector and others have been leaked.
“But the unscrupulous government is behaving as if nothing has happened,” he said in a statement and demanded transparency in the state.
Huda, the Leader of the Opposition in the Haryana Assembly, said, “In the last few years, there have been no appointments that have not been leaked. Village secretaries and constables – two major appointments have been leaked. In the same year.”
Despite this, the government could not properly investigate the matter. He said it was clear from this that the roots of corruption in the current government were spread from top to bottom.
Huda claims that unemployment is highest in Haryana. If it is not bad enough, the youth will also have to face recruitment scandal, said the Congress leader.
The Congress leader said, “The youth who should have been part of the progress of the state are themselves being crushed by the rice of corruption. The youth of the government have no right to play with the future.”
