harak singh: Congress will win Uttarakhand polls, claims expelled BJP minister Harak Singh Rawat | India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Ahead of the Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party’s expelled minister Harak Singh Rawat has said that the Congress party will form the government in Uttarakhand.
Speaking to ANI today, HS Rawat said, “Congress party will form the government in Uttarakhand. I will work for Congress party.”
“The BJP will never understand the problems of the common man. I know that party very well. I understand their point of view. I will continue to work for the welfare of the people,” he said.
On Sunday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami sacked Minister of State Harak Singh Rawat from the cabinet.
A meeting of the BJP’s Uttarakhand core group held at the party’s headquarters in Delhi on Sunday decided to remove Rawat from the cabinet.
The meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was attended by party national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, state president Madan Kaushik, state election in-charge Prahlad Joshi, election co-incharge RP Singh and others.
Harak Singh Rawat, who was invited to the meeting, was not even present at the BJP’s core group meeting. Rawat was angry with the party as he demanded tickets for himself and his daughter-in-law Anukriti Gusai, for which the BJP was not ready.
According to sources, Harak Singh has been pressuring the BJP to give him three tickets, including himself, his daughter-in-law and one of his supporters.
Earlier, he had been pressuring the team to meet his demands. But this time the party did not accept his demand and showed him the way to expel him from the party.
In early December, Harak Singh Rawat left the cabinet and threatened to resign from the party after which BJP leaders asked him to stay in the party so that he could agree. Harak Singh Rawat joined the BJP five years ago after revolting from the Congress. However, there are rumors that Rawat is returning to the Congress. He has a long history of changing political parties.
In the last assembly elections, the BJP won 57 seats out of 70 in Uttarakhand.
Voting for the 70-member state assembly is scheduled to take place on February 14. The count will be held March 10.
