“Got Privilege Of Cow Worship”: Amit Shah Tweets Photo On Makar Sankranti

Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Gujarat to celebrate Capricorn.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday worshiped a cow at the Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and also offered prayers at the temple.

Mr Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat to celebrate the harvest festival (also known as Uttarayan), performed the ‘Aarti’, an animal revered by Hindus.

The Gandhinagar Lok Sabha MP tweeted, “Cow worship is considered important in traditional religions. I have had the opportunity to worship cows at the Jagannath Temple in Uttarayan like every year and have been blessed by the saints.”

Mr Shah also posted pictures with a tweet of his cow worship and prayers to Lord Jagannath at the temple.

The BJP leader flies kites with his family and party workers every year on the occasion of Uttarayan, but he refrained from doing so this year due to the death of a close relative.

On Saturday, Mr Shah will launch an organic farming project from the residence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
