Goa assembly elections 2022: In talks with Congress and Trinamool for alliance, says Sharad Pawar | India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday said his party was in talks with the Trinamool Congress and the Congress for an alliance in Goa.
Voting will be held on February 14 in 40 assembly constituencies in Goa.
With both the Trinamool Congress and Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party throwing their hats in the ring, the Assembly elections in Goa this year could be multifaceted.
The Congress, which emerged as the single largest party in the 2017 Assembly elections with 17 seats, has been pushed to the margins as it has lost 15 seats to other parties.
It will be interesting to see what the Congress decides about the proposed alliance after the Trinamool Congress has killed several of its leaders in the state.
The Congress on Monday categorically denied any alliance with the Trinamool Congress.
Veteran Congress leader Casey Venugopal tweeted: “The rumors circulating in today’s meeting that Rahul Gandhi discussed a possible alliance with the TMC are baseless and untrue. I assure you that the Congress party is confident – we will bring Goa back.
The Trinamool has also softened its stance on joining hands with the Congress in the state.
